LAUREL LEE FARES POORLY IN FLASH POLL BASED ON HER SECRETARY OF STATE VETERANS RECORD 85% Voters Less Likely to Vote for Lee for Congress

Tallahassee – Save Their Honor releases the results of a flash poll today showing 85% of Republicans are less likely to vote for Laurel Lee for US Congress based on her record on veterans as Secretary of State. The flash poll conducted of Republican voters in Congressional District 15 by telephone from Saturday, August 6th to Monday August 8th revealed that almost 5 out of 6 Republican voters in the district who participated in the poll were "Less Likely" to vote for Laurel Lee for not protecting historic veterans monuments in National Register Historic Districts in Florida, including in the historic cities of St. Augustine and Pensacola. Florida Statute Chapter 267.031(1) Secretary of State's Powers and Duties include "Take such other actions necessary...to...protect, preserve...historic resources". Historic Resources are defined in Chapter 256.021 as "any...historic district, site,...object, or other real or personal property of historical architectural or archaeological value...these...resources may include, but are not limited to monuments, memorials..." Despite the laws, Lee refused to act to protect these veterans memorials when these cities ignored their own historic preservation ordinances to remove historic veterans memorials in 2020.

Save The Honor Save Their Honor is a coalition of pro-veteran patriotic Floridians who seek to see Florida's war memorials respected and protected from the heartbreaking destruction and vandalism of Florida's veteran's observances. According to the Veterans Administration, roughly 10% of Florida’s population are Veterans and approximately 30% of Florida households include a Veteran. More information: www.savetheirhonor.org
